This is fun wooden box that can be used for all kinds of purpose. It opens with putting finger into the hole and pull it up. It is a perfect size for cocktail napkins with the inside diameter 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 inches. It appears to be made from solid wood, likely maple but I am not sure. There are straw or reed decorations on the box top and woven pattern on the sides. I believe this is a newer version to recreate the 1800s straw marquetry work. Really intriguing design. The people on the box appears to be Dutch so I guess that's the origin of the box.
